This week, we have started reading Man on the Moon by Simon Bartram. Before we read the story, we worked together in teams to explore images from the book. These illustrations helped us to find out information about the character Bob and to make thoughtful predictions about his life.
After reading the story, we created our own role on the wall diagrams. We identified vocabulary to describe both Bob’s physical appearance and his personality, using precise words to build a detailed character study. We also had fun creating our own story maps to show what happened to Bob throughout the day and using them to retell the story to our partners.
We have greatly enjoyed reading the story and spotting the cheeky aliens hidden in the images. We are looking forward to exploring further and creating our own stories in the coming weeks.
