…Reception 2026-2027
What a wonderful first week it has been for our Reception children! We are so proud of how bravely they have taken their first steps into “big school” life.
There has been lots to adjust to, with new classrooms, new adults, new friends and new routines. For many of our children, this is also their first experience of staying at school for a full day and having lunch with their friends. They have taken it all in their stride, although one or two have enjoyed a cheeky little nap after such busy days! 😴
There have, of course, been a few tears at the classroom door in the mornings, but building relationships with the adults around them has really helped the children to feel safe, happy and increasingly confident. It has been lovely to see new friendships already beginning to form too.
And what a busy week we have had! The children have enjoyed phonics games, math songs, singing together outside and showing us their artistic skills. They have also loved exploring our outdoor area, riding the bikes, getting messy in the mud kitchen, playing in the sand and simply enjoying time with their new friends.
All in all, it has been a fantastic start. We are incredibly proud of our children and cannot wait to see what the year ahead brings!
