This week, Reception had a very exciting and special experience as River’s mum came in to help us release the butterflies they have been caring for over the past few weeks.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed listening to River and his Mum tell us about the amazing life cycle of a butterfly. They explained how they watched as the tiny caterpillars grew bigger each day, formed their chrysalises, and then transformed into beautiful butterflies. It was wonderful for the children to listen to each stage of growth and learn about this fascinating process first hand.
When the butterflies were ready, we carefully took them outside for their release. The children were delighted to watch the butterflies flutter their wings before flying off into the sky. There were lots of smiles, excitement, and awe as we said goodbye to the butterflies and watched them begin their new adventure.
A huge thank you to River’s mum for joining us and helping to make this memorable experience so special for the children!
