In PSHE, we began a new topic called “My Family and Me.” The children talked about their own families, learned about different types of families, and explored what makes each one unique and special. This supported their understanding of the world around them and helped to build a sense of belonging.

This week in phonics, we focused on the ‘l’ sound. The children practised recognising, saying, and forming the sound, as well as identifying words that begin with ‘l’. We used a range of fun, practical activities to support their learning, alongside our focus rhyme, “A Sailor Went to Sea”, which the children enjoyed joining in with.

Our book of the week was based on the theme of Easter. We explored the story together, discussed its meaning, and took part in a range of linked activities.

In maths, we focused on counting and number recognition. The children practised counting objects carefully, matching numbers to quantities, and developing confidence in recognising numerals through hands-on activities.
