Welcome back everyone! We hope you all had a wonderful Easter break filled with rest, fun and maybe even a few chocolate treats! 🍫✨ It has been such a joy to welcome the children back into Reception, ready for a week full of exciting learning and discovery.

This week, our learning has been inspired by the lovely story Emily Brown and the Thing. The children have enjoyed listening to the story and talking about the mysterious “Thing” and what makes it special. We’ve had some fantastic discussions, with children sharing their own ideas and imaginations—some even created their own “Things”!

🌳 Woodland Adventures
We have been busy exploring the outdoors and discovering the wonders of woodland environments. The children loved creating their very own hideaways using natural materials. From leafy shelters to stick dens, teamwork and creativity were shining everywhere!

🎨 Drawing Our Emotions
Back in the classroom, we explored our feelings through art. The children created beautiful drawings to show different emotions, helping them understand how we feel and how to express those feelings in a positive way.

🔷 Super Shape Sorters & Counting Stars!
In maths, we’ve been sorting shapes and learning all about their different properties. The children impressed us with their careful thinking and sorting skills! We have also been practising counting all the way up to 20—what super mathematicians we have!

💬 A Week Full of Smiles
It has truly been a fantastic start to the term. The classroom has been filled with laughter, curiosity and a love of learning. We are so proud of how the children have settled back in and embraced every activity with enthusiasm.

We can’t wait for another exciting week ahead—who knows what adventures we’ll discover next! 🌈✨
