This week in Reception, we have been enjoying the wonderful story Stanley’s Stick and discovering all the amazing places Stanley imagines he can go with his stick! We learned that the story was written by John Hegley and illustrated by Neal Layton.
The children loved using their imaginations just like Stanley. We transformed our learning by pretending we were at the beach, playing in the sand and thinking of exciting adventures we could go on. Using our own sticks, we explored lots of creative activities including painting, building, creating models and making all sorts of wonderful things together.
Our outdoor house has also had a very exciting transformation this week into a busy classroom! The children have been having lots of fun taking on the roles of teachers and pupils. They have been teaching each other sounds, maths and many different subjects whilst showing fantastic teamwork, communication and imagination. It has been wonderful to see the children playing so kindly together, building confidence and enjoying their learning through role play.
We are so proud of all the creativity, imagination and fun the children have shared this week!
