On Tuesday this week, we put together a celebration for Eid in our classes. Eid was in the half term break but still wanted to celebrate the religious day with parents and carers coming in to spend the time with the children.

Each class put together different sensory activities, colouring and decorating tasks including decorating cookies, as well as a lunch buffet. With this, some parents and carers visiting brought food to share out to the class and staff, in accordance with dietary requirements of course.

The event was set up so beautifully by the staff involved. They made a great effort to encourage the children and visitors to explore a range of sensory based tasks and the children really engaged with them.

The feedback we received from parents and carers was so wonderful. So many of them said it is lovely that these events are set up throughout the year and they are invited in to sit with their child/ren. They love being able to come in and take part and see how their child/ren engages in class with the activities and staff. This is why we do these, for the memories and experiences that not just the children, but the adults at home, can remember, take pictures and enjoy the time spent with the children.

What we saw walking around classes, was how parents and carers were engaging with other children in class, supporting them to eat and take part in the activities. At times, some children became upset, and a parent allowed the child to sit with them and reassured them. This is heart warming to see, and shows the togetherness shared within the ARP family.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to the parents and carers who attended this event, and also to the staff for putting so much time and effort into ensuring that it all runs smoothly, as well as visitors being happy with attending.

Please see some of the pictures below for the days activities.
