How have toys changed?

Year 1 have started our exciting new History unit, ‘How Have Toys Changed?’

We began by thinking about our favourite toys and discussing why they are special to us. The children enjoyed sharing their ideas and drawing pictures of their favourite toys.

We also thought about toys from our own past and began using important historical vocabulary such as old, new, now, long ago, then, before and after.

Over the next few weeks, we are looking forward to discovering how toys have changed over time and comparing the toys children play with today to toys from the past!
