This week in our setting, the children have been thoroughly enjoying our new role play area, which has been transformed into an ASDA shop. They have been using money to buy items and exploring real fruit and vegetables, making the experience even more meaningful and engaging.

The children have confidently taken on different roles within the shop. Some have enjoyed scanning items at the checkout, while others have taken on the role of customers, selecting and purchasing their goods. We have also seen fantastic early writing, with children creating shopping lists of the foods they would like to buy.

Alongside this, we have been learning about spring. The children have loved discussing the changes they have noticed in the environment, such as the warmer weather, trees growing new leaves, flowers beginning to bloom, and the days becoming longer with lighter evenings.

It has been a wonderful week of learning through play, supporting both their mathematical understanding and knowledge of the world.
