Year 6 have made a fantastic start to their final year of primary school, settling in brilliantly and already showing maturity, enthusiasm and teamwork. In English, we have begun our new class novel, Letters from the Lighthouse by Emma Carroll, set during World War II, which has already sparked lots of curiosity and discussion. In Maths, we have been exploring place value, working confidently with numbers up to 10 million through reading, writing, comparing, and rounding them. Our Science topic on light has led us to think about how light travels, how shadows are formed and why light is so important in our daily lives. In PSHE, we have been open about our worries for the year ahead, sharing ideas on how to manage challenges such as homework, SATs and preparing for secondary school. Year 6 is set to be a wonderful year full of achievements, memories, and new adventures!
