As part of our World Book Day celebrations this week, our Year 5 pupils were lucky enough to take part in an exciting storytelling workshop with author Seth Burkett.

During the session, Seth guided the children through the creative process of building their own stories step by step. He began by encouraging the pupils to think about a “What if…?” question to spark their imagination. From there, the children created their own main character, developed a villain, and thought carefully about key events that could happen in their story.

By the end of the workshop, every child had developed the beginnings of their own unique story plot. It was fantastic to see the pupils using their imaginations so creatively and sharing their ideas with such enthusiasm.

The workshop was incredibly fun, interactive and inspiring. The children particularly enjoyed hearing from a real author about how stories are created and learning that great ideas often start with simple questions and imagination.

A huge thank you to Seth Burkett for delivering such an engaging session and helping to inspire the next generation of young writers!
