This week, our Year 4 pupils took their very first steps into the world of recorder playing—and what a brilliant start it was!
With excitement (and a few giggles), the children learned how to hold the recorder correctly, sit with good posture and begin exploring their first notes. We focused on breathing gently, using soft fingers and listening carefully to the sounds we made. It was wonderful to see their concentration and enthusiasm as they worked together to create music.

We’ll be learning another note next week, so stay tuned for more musical milestones. Well done, Year 4—you’re off to a fantastic start!
