Year 2 musicians have been exploring the magic of the ukulele. The ukulele is an acoustic, stringed instrument, which relies on the vibrations of strings and the hollow, wooden box, to create sound. We have been learning that different string size and tightness create different pitched sounds. If we put our fingers on the strings, this also changes the pitch. We use our right hand to either strum (play strings at the same time), or pluck (play them separately). Here we are exploring changing the pitch of the strings to create a ‘C’ chord. We hope you enjoy our musicking!
