This week Reception children have been reading a popular book, ‘The Blue Penguin’, written by Petr Horacek. All the children enjoyed this heart-warming story of a blue penguin who looked different from the rest of the penguins. Children learnt about the emotions of the blue penguin and discussed how the blue penguin had felt lonely and sad as he had no friends, but after meeting a true friend he was happy and was no longer sad or lonely.
Children also discussed about their own feelings and emotions. They were able to express their own emotions and relate to different situations. Some children expressed their feelings of being excited when they go for shopping with their family and some spoke about feeling happy playing and sharing their toys with their friends.
Overall, all the children enjoyed their learning this week and many commented that their learning was fun.
