This half term in history, we are thinking about Victorian toys. We learnt who Queen Victoria was and explored what toys were like for rich and poor children during Victorian times. We were fascinated to learn about the different types of toys children played with. Last week, we looked closely at dolls for rich and poor children and compared them with the dolls we know today. We noticed that some Victorian dolls were beautifully made, but others were far simpler. This helped us understand how play changed over time and why toys can tell us about the past.
