This week in Science, we continued our learning about everyday materials. We explored the difference between natural and manmade objects, sorting and comparing their properties.

The children then used these objects with paint to create repeated patterns. First, they made prints using natural objects, and then repeated the activity with manmade ones. This helped us notice the different shapes and textures each type of object can create.

Later in the week, we investigated the properties of wax. We discovered that wax is waterproof, and used this knowledge to create our own wax-resist art with watercolours. The children loved watching how the paint moved around the wax rather than sinking into it!

It has been a fantastic week of hands-on exploration and creativity in Science.
