Year 4 have kicked off their exciting new Electricity unit in Science with a hands-on investigation to spark their curiosity. The lesson began with a range of everyday objects, including toys, buzzers and wires, which the children explored carefully, discussing and predicting how each item might be powered. There was a real buzz of excitement as pupils tested their ideas and shared their thinking.

To deepen their understanding, the children then worked collaboratively to sort the items into a Venn diagram, grouping them as mains-powered, battery-powered or neither. This practical activity encouraged thoughtful discussion, problem-solving and teamwork, helping pupils build a strong foundation for their learning in this fascinating topic.
