This week the children have really enjoyed exploring and playing with all of our new toys and activities, developing their confidence and independence as they settle into our nursery routines.
We have also started our phonics lessons and have been having lots of fun with songs and rhymes. We have been singing “One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Once I Caught a Fish Alive” and exploring rhyming words. The children have been practising hearing and identifying rhyming sounds and have enjoyed clapping the syllables in different words.
In Maths, we have been learning through songs and actions, including “Five Little Ducks” and “Five Green and Speckled Frogs”. These fun activities are helping the children develop their counting skills, number awareness and mathematical language.
It has been wonderful to see the children learning, exploring and having fun together!
