In a captivating match held under the bright lights at Goals in Dagenham, Monteagle’s Year 6 Boys showcased their resilience and growth, securing a hard-fought victory against Banyan Primary School with a final score of 3-2.

The win didn’t come without its share of twists and turns. From the onset, Monteagle set the pace with an early goal, establishing control and dictating the flow of the game. However, just before the halftime whistle, Banyan managed to level the score, setting the stage for an intense second half.

After some strategic adjustments during the break, Monteagle emerged as the stronger side in the latter half. Despite Banyan taking an unexpected lead of 2-1 against the run of play, Monteagle’s character shone through. Learnings from previous games were evident as the team fought back valiantly.

The introduction of impactful substitutes proved crucial, leading to a well-deserved equalizer midway through the second half. As the winter night settled in, tension rose. With just minutes remaining, a spectacular cross-field goal soared into the top corner, propelling Monteagle back into the lead.
