Maths Week England got off to a cracking start today with children across the school using manipulatives to help them solve maths problems.

Year 1 children were using unifix cubes and 10s grids to complete subtraction number sentences. They then spotted Ms Hughes’s mistake and used the method to correct the answer.

In Year 3, children used counters to help solve multiplication calculations and in Year 6 children had to categorise 2D shapes using the shapes’ properties in Carroll Diagrams and Tree Diagrams.

After the first day of the TT Stars Rock Out Competition, 6W is leading, closely followed by 6K and 4A.  Keep practising, there is still 5 days to go.  Points mean Prizes.
