In science this week we continued to learn about muscles and tendons. We learned how the diaphragm is a really strong muscle and that it helps us to breathe. We wanted to investigate if people who did more exercise and sports, had a stronger lung capacity. We made a simple instrument to measure our lung capacity. We had to breathe into a tube that led into a bottle that was marked with numbers, and was filled with water. Our air would make bubbles in the water in the bottle, which would then expel the water. When we ran out of breath we measured how much water was left in the bottle. It was hard work! We then looked at our results and discussed what the data meant.
In RE we have been looking at the significance of light in religion. This week we looked at how Diwali is celebrated; and what are the differences and similarities between Hindu’s and Sinki’s celebrating Diwali.
