Congratulations to our indoor athletics team for winning the East London Youth Games at the Copper Box Arena last Tuesday, progressing to the London Youth Games. Due to the success in winning the borough indoor title, Monteagle were given the responsibility to represent the borough of Barking and Dagenham to compete against all other boroughs in East London.
On the day there were some outstanding performances in the girls’ relay race, boys’ vertical jump and a national record set in the speed bounce event. It was a very closely fought competition, however Monteagle finished as deserved winners and will progress to the London Youth Games at the Crystal Palace athletics track in March 2017.
