This week, in PSHE, Year 4 did an activity called “Grow-A-Dream Seed Packets.” Just like real seed packets you find in a garden centre, pupils designed their own — but instead of flowers, they planted new dreams!
On the front, children drew what their “dream plant” might look like. We saw stars, books, hearts, music notes and all kinds of imaginative ideas. They also added fun names and positive slogans to match.
On the back, they wrote simple instructions for how to grow a new dream, like:
• be kind to yourself
• try again later
• ask for help
• explore a new goal
They also wrote a short message to someone whose dream didn’t work out — encouraging them to keep going and try something new.
The activity helped Year 4 think about resilience, feelings and starting again after disappointment… all through art! We were really proud of how thoughtful, kind and creative they were.
