Year two have been learning all about nature and natural materials in the environment. During our Art lessons, the children were tasked with comparing and contrasting real life plants, seeds, and flowers with photographs.

We discussed the similarities and differences between them and the children created a list of descriptive words such as smooth, spiky, soft, prickly. We also looked at shape, colour, size, and texture.

Over the next few weeks, the children will be creating compositions of some of their found natural materials from their Grufalo trail. Stay tuned for more progress!

Check out some of the photos below of the children during their investigation.
