Drawing Lab workshop

Today, year six children were visited by artist Paul Brandford from the Royal Academy of Arts. The children spent the morning working with Paul to create a series of observational drawings. They first used charcoal to create a drawing from a description that Paul read.

After, the children looked at a series of images and used coloured soft pastel and then added details with charcoal.

To finish off the workshop, the children experimented with drawing ink to create an observational drawing of a rhino. They then added hints of colour with the soft pastel. The children had a great time working with Paul and really showed their creativity today.

This is part of a series of workshops in partnership with the Royal Academy of Arts. Check out the photos below.
