On Friday, Year 1 embarked on an educational trip to Belfairs Woods, enhancing our science curriculum while immersing ourselves in the woodland setting depicted in our story, ‘Wild’. We were delighted to meet park rangers Emma, Katie, and Ben, who expertly guided us throughout the day. With Emma, we explored the woods, learning about various plants and searching for fallen seeds. We enacted the growth process of a seed and discovered how seeds are dispersed by wind and animals. Our adventure included a bug hunt with Ben, where we observed minibeasts, and a fun pollen game. Katie informed us about woodland animals, enriching our understanding of their habitats. It was a day filled with enjoyment and valuable learning experiences.
