In our classes this week, we have been completing a range of activities across our different levels of learning, that are appropriate for the children, as well as being linked to our topic this term ‘Food and Health’.

In our Pre-Formal classes, the children were using pasta and paint to collage a picture of strawberries. They used the paint to represent the red of the strawberries, and the pasta was used to represent the bowl they were in. The children enjoy messy play and using different wet resources, as well as breaking the pasta in their hand and crunching it together.

In one of our Semi-Formal classes, they were focussing on the sequencing of brushing their teeth. The adults have been modelling this sequencing task to the children this week to start off with. Now, the children are up to sequencing the pictures and steps with the adult support, as you can see from the pictures below.

Finally, in another one of our Semi-Formal classes, the children were able to organise pictures of fruits and vegetables into the correct category. Sometimes, this can be tricky, as there can be confusion over what is a fruit and a vegetable, as a lot of people ask about the tomato…is it a fruit or a vegetable? Perhaps the children will know from their learning this week.
