This week at school has been full of joy, learning, and celebration as we explored important cultural and religious events from around the world.
On Tuesday, we came together for a special whole-school assembly to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. During the assembly, we learned about the meaning behind the day, exploring who St. Patrick was and why he is remembered. We also discussed the traditions that people follow, such as wearing green, celebrating Irish culture, and enjoying music and dance.
A real highlight of the week was welcoming some very special visitors into school—world champion Irish dancers! The children were amazed by their incredible performances, which showcased traditional Irish dancing in all its energy and precision. Our visitors also shared fascinating facts, including the types of shoes Irish dancers wear and how intricate (and expensive!) their costumes can be. It was a wonderful opportunity for pupils to experience Irish culture in such an engaging and memorable way.
Today, many of our children and families are also celebrating Eid, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. This is a very special and meaningful time, focused on reflection, gratitude, and community. We would like to wish all of our families celebrating Eid a joyful and peaceful time.
It has truly been a week of celebration, learning, and appreciation of different cultures and traditions. We are proud to create opportunities for our children to learn about and respect the diverse world around them.
