This past week in Year 1 has been exceptionally busy and filled with exciting activities. We commenced the week with a visit from the author Chris White. During his engaging session, Chris read several of his delightful poems and showcased his remarkable illustrations. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, which sparked our imaginations and inspired us to think creatively about our own writing.
In our geography lessons, we have been exploring the United Kingdom, focusing particularly on the city of Cardiff. We examined both the human and physical features of this vibrant city, which allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of its unique characteristics. To share our findings, we collaborated to create colourful posters that highlight the interesting facts we discovered about Cardiff.
On Wednesday, we embarked on a walk to the local mosque, where we had the opportunity to talk with the Imam. This visit was enlightening as we learned about the various objects within the mosque and how Muslims express their faith and belonging to Islam. It was a lovely and informative experience that enriched our understanding of different cultures and beliefs.
We finished the week off by celebrating Red Nose Day and dressing in red and funny things.
