Before the holidays, we were thrilled to invite for a third consecutive year IROKO Theatre Company for vibrant educational workshops and assemblies across the school from Years 1 to 6.
In the music room and school hall, IROKO introduced pupils to the the rich traditions of African drumming, blending rhythm, storytelling and cultural history into an unforgettable experience. Pupils listened, learned and responded to the beats that have echoed through generations across the African continent and the energy across the school from pupils and staff was palpable.
The session not only celebrated musical heritage but also encouraged pupils to reflect on the role of music in communication, celebration and community. It was a joyful and meaningful way to honour Black History Month and end the half term on a high note.
Below please take a look at the videos that show just how much their visit brought our school alive. We are already looking forward to welcoming them back very soon.
