To mark the end of the half term and celebrate Black History Month, we were delighted to host the talented IROKO Theatre Company for a vibrant and educational workshop and assembly.

Through the powerful medium of music, IROKO introduced pupils to the rich traditions of African drumming, blending rhythm, storytelling and cultural history into an unforgettable experience. The KS1 hall was filled with energy as pupils listened, learned and responded to the beats that have echoed through generations across the African continent.

The session not only celebrated musical heritage but also encouraged pupils to reflect on the role of music in communication, celebration and community. It was a joyful and meaningful way to honour Black History Month and end the half term on a high note.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to IROKO Theatre Company for sharing their passion and expertise and to all staff and pupils for their enthusiasm and engagement.
