This week in Science, we began our new unit on Materials. We explored the three states of matter – solids, liquids and gases – and investigated how different materials behave.
We carried out a series of experiments to test the solubility of different materials, discovering which substances dissolve in water and which do not. We then took our investigations further by exploring whether we could reverse changes in states of matter, observing how materials can change from one state to another.
The children had great fun getting hands-on with their learning, making predictions, carrying out experiments and discussing their scientific observations!
