Monteagle School was honoured today to welcome Her Worshipful the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Princess Bright. The Mayor kindly took time out of her busy schedule to host an assembly for our Year 5 and 6 pupils, where she spoke about her inspiring journey into politics and the important responsibilities she holds in leading our borough. As the youngest Mayor Barking and Dagenham has ever had, Madam Mayor is a true role model for our children, showing them that with dedication and ambition, anything is possible. She shared how she began her career in politics at just 21 and her aspirations to one day become an MP. Following the assembly, our Headteacher, Ms Rider, gave the Mayor a tour of the school, during which the Mayor said she was very impressed by the high-quality teaching and learning taking place. We look forward to seeing her again soon, as she has invited our school council to visit her at the Town Hall and we are excited to welcome her back for future events.
