What a fantastic first week we’ve had in Year 5! The children have settled in beautifully, showing great enthusiasm, kindness, and readiness for the year ahead. It has been wonderful to see how quickly they have adapted to their new routines and embraced the exciting learning opportunities on offer.
This week, our focus has been on poetry. We have read a range of poems, listened to different performances, watched poets in action, and even had a go at performing poems ourselves. The children have enjoyed exploring rhythm, rhyme, and expression, and their confidence has grown with each activity.
All of this has been in preparation for writing our very own poems next week. We can’t wait to see the creativity and imagination that the children will bring to their writing.
It has been a joyful start to the term, and we are looking forward to all the learning and achievements still to come!
