This week, we celebrated our Harvest Festival with a special assembly filled with wonderful harvest poems and songs performed by the children. It was a lovely opportunity to come together as a school community and reflect on the importance of gratitude, kindness and helping others.
As part of our celebrations, we collected food donations for our local food bank to help support families and individuals in our community.
After the assembly, a small group of children had the special job of helping deliver our donations to The Shed Food Bank in Dagenham. While we were there, we met the lovely Becky, who warmly welcomed us and explained how the food bank supports people in the local community.
The children learnt about the difference that food donations can make and how small acts of kindness can have a big impact on others.
A huge thank you to all our families for their generous donations and to Becky and the team at The Shed Food Bank for taking the time to welcome us and share their important work. We are incredibly proud of our children for showing such kindness, compassion and community spirit this Harvest Festival!
