As we come to the end of our Emotions topic, we are looking to see if the children have a better understanding of feeling happy and sad, and recognising what the emotion means by connecting it to the facial appearance; smiling for happy and crying or lip out for sad.

The children were making some happy faces using paint for a sensory activity this week. The adults tried to have less physical support and encourage the children to trace and draw the happy face independently.

Alongside this, our Formal class had a party that was linked to their English lesson. They made mini pizzas, danced and played games, and of course ate their pizzas they made. The children had a lovely time at their party.

Take a look at the pictures below to see the happy face painting and the party.
