Our children have been on a wonderful learning adventure this week, exploring the exciting story Walking Through the Jungle. The classroom was full of imagination, creativity and laughter as the children brought the story to life through a variety of fun activities.

First, we read the story together and talked about all the different animals we might meet while walking through the jungle. The children loved joining in with the repeated phrases from the book and using their best storytelling voices. After that, we turned our classroom into a jungle! The children acted out the story, creeping through the grass, splashing through the river and stomping through the mud while pretending to be explorers. They had great fun performing for their friends and using actions and expressions to show how the characters might feel.

To build on our learning, the children also completed some fantastic writing activities. They drew pictures of the animals they might see in the jungle and had a go at writing words and simple sentences to describe them. We were so impressed with their effort and creativity!

As part of our PSHE learning, we also talked about how to keep our bodies healthy. The children explored the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods by sorting different food pictures into groups. We discussed why some foods help our bodies grow strong and why others should only be eaten sometimes.

We also talked about the importance of exercise and how moving our bodies helps keep us healthy and happy. The children shared their favourite ways to exercise, including running, dancing, playing football and riding bikes.

To finish the lesson, the children drew pictures of their favourite healthy meals and explained why they like them. It was lovely to see them sharing their ideas with their friends and talking about foods that help them grow.

Well done to all of our fantastic learners for their enthusiasm, teamwork and brilliant ideas this week!
