In Year 6, the run-up to SATs can sometimes feel overwhelming, so our gardening sessions offer children a calm and positive space to grow in more ways than one. Working together in the garden helps pupils make new friends as they share tasks like planting, watering and caring for the beds. Along the way, they learn practical skills such as understanding how plants grow, looking after tools responsibly and working as a team. Being outdoors and focusing on nature also provides a welcome break from exam preparation, helping children relax, reset and manage any stress they may be feeling. By nurturing the garden, they are also nurturing confidence, friendships and wellbeing.
