We enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year. The children had lots of fun exploring different activities linked to the celebration.

In our creative area, we made colourful dancing lions and dragons by cutting up red and yellow paper and sticking the pieces onto paper to create bright, festive designs. The children loved talking about the colours and patterns used during Chinese New Year.

In our sensory play, the children scooped and poured coloured rice. This helped them practise their hand-eye coordination while exploring different textures and colours.

In the home corner, the children used their imaginations to pretend to cook Chinese food. They made dishes such as dumplings, noodles and stir-fry, sharing their ideas with their friends as they played.

We also practised our scissor skills by cutting up noodles. This activity helped the children develop their scissor control and fine motor skills while having fun with something a little different.
