Over this term, the year 6 children have been exploring what different religions believe about life and death. This week our focus was on Hinduism and the fascinating concept of the reincarnation cycle. The pupils learned that, unlike some religions that teach we have just one life, Hindus believe the soul can be reborn many times. They were intrigued to discover that Hindu’s believe the way a person lives—through their actions and choices—can influence what form they are reincarnated into next. The children also discussed the ultimate goal in Hinduism: to live such a good and spiritual life that the soul can break free from the cycle of rebirth and unite with God. They then represented these good karma/bad karma life cycles through drawing.
