Reception children have been enjoying reading the timeless, classical fairy tales, “The three little pigs and Goldilocks and the three Bears”. These  lovely stories are evolving around the theme of curiosity, consequences, and the importance of respecting others privacy. These stories have always mesmerised the young audience all around the world for many generations  and are still very popular tales. After reading these two lovely tales, Reception children engaged in a variety of creative, fine motor and writing activities based on these stories. They have all been super engaged in learning to sequence the stories using the stories’ pictures, doing colouring activities, designing houses and homes, cutting and sticking activities. Many children during their interactive sessions have been seen re-telling these stories to their friends and classmates. All have enjoyed making the furniture for Goldilocks and the three bears. Children have also been doing role play, enacting as the main characters, using the face masks of both these timeless stories. It’s been a real treat for us teachers to see our class children, confidently coming up in front of all their classmates and re-telling these stories using their own vocabulary.
Children also discussed about the appropriate materials which the first two pigs in the story of the three little pigs, should have used in building their homes. They also have been discussing about the importance of not entering homes of the strangers and avoid interacting with them. They now know the importance of staying safe and to always take permission of their grown ups before entering into anyone’s premises and talking to strangers. Overall, this week was full of fun alongside learning new skills.
Well Done Reception!
