Another brilliant day here in beautiful Trewern! The children woke up full of energy and ready for another round of adventures.
Groups 1 and 2 spent the day at the Big Pit National Coal Museum in Blaenavon. They were completely fascinated by the history of Welsh mining and loved the chance to head 90 metres underground. It was an eye-opening experience dark, atmospheric, and full of stories that really brought the past to life.
Group 3 had an unforgettable time gorge walking, scrambling through rushing water and climbing over rocks with huge smiles on their faces. Their confidence and teamwork were amazing to see. Meanwhile, Group 4 thrived in their climbing and bushcraft activities, showing determination, problem-solving, and a fantastic sense of adventure as they tackled every challenge thrown their way.
After such a busy day, a hearty roast dinner was exactly what we needed — plates were cleared in record time! This evening, we rounded off the day with some brilliant team-building activities on the low ropes course and problem-solving wall, as well as a few fast-paced games like gutter ball. The laughter and teamwork on display really showed how much the children have grown together this week.
It’s hard to believe our time here is already drawing to a close. With one more full day of adventure ahead, we’re finishing the night with room inspections and a well-earned rest before tomorrow’s final day in our new favourite place.
