Art lessons have been progressing nicely this half term with a whole array of 2d and 3d knowledge and skills being developed.
Year 2 have been working on 3d sculpting and have just finished their designs of papier mache planets, where they practiced the use of both soft pastels and oil pastels. Next week they will be painting using their selected scheme.
Year 3 have been learning about some of the formal elements of art including shape and tone. This week they learned more about texture and the technique of frottage. They used rubbings of textures as well as collage to create images of their own choosing, whilst also using layering.
