INTENT
Science at Monteagle aims to be a practical, child led subject with opportunities for children to explore their own questions beyond the classroom. We strive to develop children’s ‘Science Capital’ by showcasing the vast array of fields science can branch into as well as providing real world context for our lessons.
Our Science curriculum also intends to go beyond the curriculum in the terms of thematic Science weeks, Educational Trips and a variety of external experts. As children progress through Monteagle we will foster a growth mindset filled with curiosity and wonder that aims to explain the ever changing world around them through engaging, sequential and well resources lessons.
Furthermore, we will provide them with the critical thinking skills and the ability to ‘Work Scientifically’ which will enable them to question, reason and problem solve beyond merely acquiring knowledge.
