This week Reception children have be learning all about weighing different objects, recapping making patterns and counting in 2’s 5’s 10’s. They have been reading a very popular book for children called ‘Bedtime for Monsters’, which is written by Ed Vere. After the children heard and tried reading the story themselves, they have drawn their own monsters and have been using describing words to describe their own monsters. Children have also continued to practise writing their names and simple sentences. They have also been busy creating their monsters using a variety of creative ideas and techniques. This week’s learning incorporated playful activities, hands-on experiences, which fostered a positive learning environment and helped all the children to discover a passion for learning which will stay for long in their minds.
