This week on Monday, Reception children went to the Barleylands farm. All the children were very excited seeing the coaches parked outside our school gate. All enjoyed the picturesque scenes from their bus’ windows and as soon as they reached Barleylands Farm, they were greeted by the farm staff. Then the lovely farm staff showed them how our food comes on our tables from the farm. They explained how wheat is made from the grains and the massive role of the farmers as they grow all the crops for our food.
After the talk, children learnt to make their pizzas with the farm staff’s guidance. After they had finished their lunch, children went to look at the farm animals and had the bumpy but a very enjoyable tractor ride.
All the children commented,”The trip was Awesome!”
It was that time of the day when we all had to return ! All the children got back into the coaches, some were tired and some still had energy left for lots of chats and giggles all the way back to school😃
An awesome and memorable trip it was for one and all!
