This week in Maths, reception children learnt to identify which set has few/ more objects. They also focussed to develop a deep understanding of our counting system. All the children practiced their 1-2-1 counting skills by counting a variety of objects. They have also been learning to count using rekenrek. Rekenrek is a counting frame just like abacus. It has two rows, and each row has 10 beads, which are five red and five white beads. All the children enjoyed using a rekenrek and it has helped them to recognise the pattern of counting system. Children were able to use the stem sentence,’___is more than/less than___.
