Monteagle was bursting with colour, laughter and music as pupils and staff came together to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day — a truly unforgettable occasion!

To honour this historic milestone, children and staff dressed in red, white and blue, with many donning authentic WW2 army uniforms and fabulous 1940s fashion.

Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of traditional wartime games and activities. From energetic three-legged races to the delicious task of baking crumble, there was fun to be had at every turn. The celebrations continued with a wonderful outdoor picnic, complete with coronation chicken sandwiches and scones — a real treat enjoyed by all.

One of the highlights of the day was the staff dance-off. With the music pumping and spirits high, teachers gave it their all, showing off their best moves in a bid to be crowned the best dancers. The energy and enthusiasm had everyone cheering and laughing!

It was an amazing, fun-packed day filled with learning, celebration and community spirit. Most importantly, it gave us all the chance to reflect on the significance of VE Day and to give heartfelt thanks to the heroes who gave their lives and made great sacrifices for the freedom we enjoy today. We are proud to remember, to celebrate and to honour.

A big thank you to our history lead Mrs Marcuccilli for all your hard work planning this wonderful day.
