We have started a new book this term and the children are really enjoying it. Journey to Jo’burg by Beverley Naidoo explores the troubles in South Africa, primarily Apartheid and the effect on the locals.

So far, we have read the opening paragraphs and generated questions and predictions which we will be able to explore as we continue to read on.

In today’s session, we performed some role play based on a scene where Naledi and Tiro are caught trespassing on a white man’s orange farm. The children are handling the sensitive subject with great maturity and as you can see in the pictures they are enjoying themselves too.
