We were really lucky to have a cellist, Nathan Davis, visit all the way from the USA yesterday. We learned that the cello is part of the violin family and its real name is the ‘violin cello’. Nathan played a number of famous cello pieces including the ‘Elephant’ and the ‘Swan’ from Camille Saint-Saëns’ ‘The Carnival of the Animals’.

Did you know that elephants love music? Nathan played along to a film of an elephant moving to music.

Students and staff also had a go at playing this famous stringed instrument.

It was a fab day, thanks so much to Nathan (Ms. Davis’ dad!).
